Roll away your stone...

.....and hit up this gig.
Big fan of these dudes and they're coming to Eden, yewww! Was only lamenting at the weekend that none of their gigs extend to any part of the Westcountry, then on Tuesday my prayers were answered. 2nd July, tickets on sale next week. Mumford and Sons supporting the Doves but I think they'll definitely be the show stealers.
If you haven't given them a listen, DO!
You know when you pass someone in the car obliviously singing away and have a good giggle at how stupid they look? Well, that's me when that CD is on. More than once I've been caught head back(ish...still eyes on the road) gob open, hollering at the top of my lungs in the car, amused looks from drivers passing in the opposite direction. But I don't care, I swear belting out a good tune releases some crazy endorphins.

  1. Doves are brilliant live too, we saw then at Hall for Cornwall last year.

  3. Hi
It's great news that Doves are playing at Eden but who are the support band? You don't mention their name.
Doves at Hall for Cornwall ? last year ? I don't think I would have missed that if it had happened. The only big bands I know to have played there in the last couple of years are Elbow and Bloc party. :)

  4. Ha, well spotted, I'll edit that! It's Mumford and Sons that are supporting, they really are fantastic.
As for Doves last year, I have no idea, only went for the Bloc Party gig.

  5. Aah july, summer evenings, skinners, outdoor gigs, and a jig in a garden centre. Bring it on.

  6. Yep, I was thinking of Bloc Party (interrupted by the fire alarm), saw Doves in Bristol Academy...

  7. Ha, I was at that gig. On the plus side to the fire alarm, my boy could only get a seated ticket whilst the rest of us were down in the pit, we managed to sneak him in downstairs after the interruption!
